Judging Wexford in Bloom Competition

This year’s entry to our Wexford in Bloom competition was free which resulted in an increase of 300% compared to last year.  A number of entries were received from outside the ring road area of the competition.  Unfortunately there are no plans at present to extend the area of the competition.

Due to the wonderful response to the competition judging will now take place from 5pm to 9pm on Monday the 15th July to Friday the 19th July inclusive and 9am to 12 noon Saturday the 20th July.

Judges this year are Mr. Chris Maddock, Bachelor of Science in Horticulture & Former Head Gardener and Horticulturist @ Teagasc, Johnstown Castle, Wexford and Leanne Roche Bachelor of Science and Honours Degree in Horticulture and currently a PHD Student @ Teagasc, Johnstown Castle, Wexford with our own PRO Phil Murphy photographing the event.  Prizes will be awarded in September at our Wexford in Bloom Awards Ceremony at Wexford Credit Union premises, Anne Street, time and date to be confirmed.  The committee and sponsors alike are delighted with the response and the interest shown this year bodes well for the future of the competition. The Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped in any way in launching the competition and of course a huge thank you to our main sponsors Wexford Credit Union, Wexford Borough Council, Wexford County Council for their continued encouragement and support.  The impact the competition has on the town is evident in the beautiful floral displays around town and beyond.  Wexford Town is most definitely in Bloom.   So enjoy.
