About

Who We Are

Wexford in Bloom is a voluntary organisation founded in 1988 which aims to put Wexford Town on the map as a clean, green, major tourist destination ablaze with colourful floral displays for our residents and tourists alike to enjoy. Some years we also host an annual competition in Wexford Town.

What We Do

about-image-1Our committee works throughout the year, in association with The Tidy Towns Committee and Wexford County Council to improve Wexford Town and environs. We also work with The Wexford Retailers Committee, The Chamber of Commerce, Residents Associations, Schools and Community Groups.

Our Committee along with Beechdale Nursery is planning for the planting in the public areas throughout the town this year. Our Committee is also involved once again with the exciting initiative this year to organise flower Hanging Baskets and Window Boxes for the Wexford Retailers. Our aim is to have more Hanging Baskets and Window Boxes along the Main Street and targeted side streets.

Displays

In order to make life easier for the retailers, we invited them to participate in our venture to brighten up their premises, by sourcing and supplying their baskets, brackets and window boxes. We worked on this project with Beechdale Nursery where we source our flowers, about-image-5baskets, brackets and boxes and who provided us with invaluable advice and support. We also offered a watering service from June to September.

Our committee visited retailers’ premises and local areas, hanging baskets and window boxes were ordered. All baskets and window boxes are delivered by the first week of June and collected at the end of September. They are stored in Beechdale Nursery during the winter. Other retailers have their own floral displays also.

Thanks to all the retailers, residents and organisations who took part for their support.
